November 2, 2023

  • Angel K. Delacruz, 45, Galesburg, was charged with class 3 felony failure to return from furlough by a felon.

  • Nathan J. Goehl, 28, Galesburg, was charged with class 3 felony aggravated battery/child under age 13/bodily harm and misdemeanor domestic battery/bodily harm.

  • Elizabeth M. Jackson, 34, Galesburg, was charged with class 3 felony failure to return from furlough by a felon.

November 6, 2023

  • Eric S. Bruington, 36, Galesburg, was charged with class 2 felony aggravated battery/peace officer and class 4 felony criminal damage to government property under $500.

October 4, 2023

  • Jose C. Lemus, 34, Galesburg, had a charge of class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams dismissed. The charge was filed May 22.

October 19, 2023

  • Jesse R. Finley, 32, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 1 felony meth possession/15-100 grams and was sentenced to 180 days jail/270 days credit and 18 months probation. A charge of class X felony meth delivery/15-100 grams was dismissed. The charges were filed Jan. 25.

November 6, 2023

  • Kenneth Swanson Sr., 68, Galesburg, had charges of class 2 felony aggravated battery/peace officer and class 4 felony resisting an officer dropped. The charges were filed June 28.

November 7, 2023

  • Jeremy E. Ashby, 43, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 1 felony meth possession/15-100 grams and was sentenced to drug court probation. A charge of class X felony meth delivery/15-100 grams was dismissed. The charges were filed July 11.

  • Amanda N. Johnson, 34, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 2 felony burglary (reduced from class 1 felony residential burglary) and was sentenced to 24 days jail/12 days credit and 18 months probation. The charge was filed Apr. 19.

  • Jeremy W. McKee, 49, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and was sentenced to drug court probation. The charge was filed Mar. 7.

  • In a second case, McKee pleaded guilty to class 2 felony burglary and was sentenced to drug court probation. The charge was filed Aug. 8.

  • In a third case, McKee pleaded guilty to class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and was sentenced to drug court probation. The charge was filed Aug. 14.

November 8, 2023

  • Dwight R. Greer, 47, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 4 felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and was sentenced to 103 days jail/103 days credit and 2 years conditional discharge. Charges of class X felony attempted murder, class 2 felony possession of a firearm by a gang member, and class 3 felony unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon were dismissed. The charges were filed July 31.

  • Jerome G. Jackson Jr., 46, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 4 felony aggravated fleeing and was sentenced to 18 months probation. Charges of misdemeanor leaving the scene of an accident and installing a traffic control signal preemption device were dismissed. The charges were filed Jan. 13.

  • Sidney D. Karr, 32, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 2 felony arson and was sentenced to 104 days jail/104 days credit and 2 years probation. The charge was filed July 14.

  • Richard C. Kenney, 48, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and was sentenced to 14 days jail/7 days credit, 2 years conditional discharge, and 60 hours community service. A charge of misdemeanor driving on a suspended license was dismissed. The charges were filed May 15.

  • Calvin L. Merritte, 39, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 2 years in prison. The charge was filed Jan. 31.

  • Jason T. Snell, 44, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 1 felony aggravated battery/strangle/great bodily harm and was sentenced to 30 days jail/30 days credit and 2 years probation. The charge was filed Oct. 10.

November 9, 2023

  • Robert A. Whitman, 62, Galesburg, had a charge of class 3 felony domestic battery/physical contact/prior dropped. The charge was filed June 26.

November 13, 2023

  • Nathan E. Cantu, 20, Galesburg, had a charge of class 4 felony criminal damage to government property under $500 dropped. The charge was filed Apr. 19.

November 15, 2023

  • Ryan B. Beck, 40, Galesburg, had charges of class 3 felony aggravated battery/victim age 60+ and class 4 felony domestic battery/prior dropped. The charges were filed Oct. 31.

  • Jonathon K. Mpiana, 25, Galesburg, had charges of class 4 felony criminal sexual abuse/force and misdemeanor resisting an officer dismissed. The charges were filed Sept. 11.

  • Ashley J. Padilla, 39, Davenport, Iowa, had a charge of class 3 felony aggravated battery/nurse dropped. The charge was filed Feb. 21.

November 17, 2023

  • Justin R. Maxwell, 36, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 2 felony possession of a firearm by a felon and was sentenced to 3 years in prison/156 days credit. Charges of class 2 felony possession of a stolen firearm, class 3 felony firearm possession, and class 4 felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon were dismissed. The charges were filed July 5.

  • In a second case, Maxwell pleaded guilty to class 2 felony burglary (reduced from class 1 felony residential burglary) and was sentenced to 3 years in prison/122 days credit. A charge of class 3 felony theft over $500 was dismissed. The charges were filed Aug. 4. 

November 27, 2023

  • Juan Barbosa-Gomez, 31, Lake Bluff, pleaded guilty to class 4 felony aggravated fleeing and was sentenced to 24 months conditional discharge and 100 hours community service. Charges of misdemeanor reckless driving and driving on a suspended license were dismissed. The charges were filed May 6, 2022.

  • Terry D. Fisher, 64, Oneida, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving on a suspended license and was sentenced to 30 days jail/4 days credit, 2 years conditional discharge, and order to pay $15,053 restitution. Charges of class 4 felony unauthorized title and misdemeanor reckless driving were dismissed. The charges were filed July 18, 2022.

  • Katrina J. Jackson, 43, Henderson Grove, pleaded guilty to class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 2 years probation and 30 hours community service. A charge of class 1 felony mfg 50-100 grams hydrocodone was dismissed. The charges were filed Aug. 24.

  • Jacqueline S. Kellogg, 40, Monmouth, pleaded guilty to class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and was sentenced to 34 days jail/17 days credit and 1 year conditional discharge. Charges of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of cannabis were dismissed. The charges were filed Oct. 25, 2022.

November 28, 2023

  • Ashley C. Ferguson, 30, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct (reduced from class 3 felony aggravated battery/public place). The charge was filed May 31.

  • Dominique R. Wingo, 22, Knoxville, pleaded guilty to class 4 felony cannabis possession/100-500 grams (reduced from class X felony mfg/delivery of cannabis over 5000 grams) and was sentenced to 2 years probation and 30 hours community service. Charges of class 1 felony cocaine possession/15-100 grams and class 2 felony possession of a stolen firearm were dismissed. The court withholds judgment in the case. The charges were filed Aug. 28.

  • Jennifer M. Wright, 40, Knoxville, pleaded guilty to class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 24 months probation and 30 hours community service. A charge of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. The court withholds judgment in the case. The charges were filed Jan. 7, 2022.

  • In a second case, Wright had charges of class 3 felony aggravated battery/deadly weapon and aggravated unlawful restraint dismissed. The charges were filed July 31.

  • Gary A. Zimmer, 55, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 2 felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse/victim under age 13 and was sentenced to 3 years in prison. The charge was filed Oct. 11, 2022.

November 29, 2023

  • Shawn L. Bowman, 36, Knoxville, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft under $500. A charge of class 2 felony burglary was dismissed. The charges were filed June 29.

  • Breona M. Harris, 23, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and was sentenced to 18 months conditional discharge. A charge of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. The charges were filed June 11, 2021.

  • Robert D. Karr, 57, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 2 felony meth delivery/5-15 grams. He is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 14.

  • Essie R. Stingley, 34, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor reckless driving. Charges of class 4 felony crash causing injury, misdemeanor driving on a revoked license, and a minor traffic charge were dismissed. She is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 31. The charges were filed Jan. 12, 2022.

November 30, 2023

  • Lainee M. Hobbs, 41, Galesburg, had a charge of class 4 felony bank fraud/possession of stolen checks dropped. The charge was filed Oct. 18.

  • Devon D. Williams, 26, Galesburg, had a charge of class 1 felony sexual assault/consent/prior conviction dropped. The charge was filed Aug. 25, 2021.

December 5, 2023

  • Shane K. Minard, 22, Galesburg, had a charge of class 4 felony trespass/residence dismissed. The charge was filed July 3.

  • In a second case, Minard pleaded guilty to class 2 felony aggravated battery/peace officer and was sentenced to 136 days jail/68 days credit and 2 years probation. Charges of class 2 felony aggravated domestic battery/strangle and class 4 felony resisting an officer were dismissed. The charges were filed Sept. 29.

  • Aubrya A. Porter, 37, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and was sentenced to 2 years probation and 30 hours community service. Charges of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license were dismissed. The court withholds judgment in the case. The charges were filed July 17.

  • Eric W. Spray, 32, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 1 felony residential burglary and was sentenced to 4 years in prison/258 days credit. Charges of class 4 felony possession of burglary tools and criminal trespass/residence were dismissed. The charges were filed Dec. 27, 2022.

  • In a second case, Spray pleaded guilty to class 1 felony residential burglary and was sentenced to 4 years in prison/258 days credit. A charge of class 3 felony possession of a firearm by a felon was dismissed. The charges were filed Dec. 27, 2023.

  • Glenn A. Thompson Jr., 31, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft under $500 (reduced from class 3 felony theft over $500) and was sentenced to 4 days jail/2 days credit, 18 months supervision, 30 hours community service, and fined. The court withholds judgment in the case. The charge was filed June 6.

December 6, 2023

  • Martin K. Ballew, 47, Davenport, Iowa, pleaded guilty to class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and was sentenced to 2 years drug court probation and 30 hours community service. The charge was filed Apr. 11.

  • Brandon R. Cox, 40, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 2 felony meth possession/5-15 grams and was sentenced to drug court. The charge was filed Feb. 28.

  • In a second case, Cox pleaded guilty to class 2 felony meth possession/5-15 grams and was sentenced to drug court. The charge was filed July 10.

  • In a third case, pleaded guilty to class 2 felony burglary and was sentenced to drug court. The charge was filed Oct. 23.

  • Gavin R. Heaton, 18, Galesburg, had a charge of class 3 felony theft over $500 dropped.
