  • Travis T. Williams, 43, was sentenced to 12 years in prison on a charge of class 2 felony aggravated DUI/crash/death, to which he pleaded guilty Sept. 15. The charge was filed Nov. 3, 2021.

December 12, 2023

  • Jason S. Bardell, 48, Galesburg, had a charge of class 4 felony domestic battery/prior dropped. The charge was filed Oct. 12.

  • Ivy C. Giron, 28, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor forgery (reduced from class 3 felony) and was sentenced to 12 months court supervision and fined. The charge was filed May 19.

A charge of class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams was dismissed. The charges were filed Oct. 19.

  • Jesse R. Burton, 26, Galesburg, had charges of class 2 felony possession of a stolen firearm, class 3 felony possession of a firearm with defaced serial number (two counts), and misdemeanor domestic battery/physical contact and illegal possession of ammunition dropped. The charges were filed Feb. 27.

  • Jonathon Clubb, 20, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal damage to property under $500 (reduced from class 4 felony criminal damage to property over $500) and was sentenced to 2 years conditional discharge and 30 hours community service. The charge was filed Oct. 17.

  • Brandon S. Engle, 43, Galesburg, had charges of class 4 felony unauthorized title and misdemeanor drivers license expired more than a year and two minor traffic charges dismissed. The charges were filed Jan. 30, 2023.

  • In a second case, Engle pleaded guilty to class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and was sentenced to 2 years conditional discharge and 50 hours community service. A charge of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. The charges were filed July 18.

  • Jerry Hall, 38, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of misdemeanor aggravated unlawful use of a weapon (reduced from class 4 felony) and was sentenced to 2 years court supervision and 30 hours community service. The court withholds judgment in the case. The charge was filed July 10.

  • Luis G. Quinonez, 35, Galesburg, had a charge of class 3 felony theft over $500 dropped. The charge was filed Sept. 12.

January 4, 2024

  • Chad L. Moore, 40, Wataga, pleaded guilty to class 3 felony possession of a firearm by a felon and was sentenced to 2 years in prison/5 days credit. Charges of class 1 felony meth possession/15-100 grams, class 3 felony possession of a firearm by a felon, and misdemeanor driving on a suspended license were dismissed. The charges were filed June 3, 2022.

  • In a second case, Moore had charges of class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and misdemeanor driving on a suspended license dismissed. The charges were filed Dec. 28, 2022.

January 5, 2024

  • Larry L. Black Jr., 33, Galesburg, had charges of class 2 felony aggravated domestic battery/strangle and class 4 felony domestic battery/prior dropped. The charges were filed May 16.

  • In a second case, Black had a charge of class 4 felony domestic battery/prior dropped. The charge was filed July 10.

  • In a third case, Black had charges of class 4 felony unlawful restraint and misdemeanor interfering with a report of domestic violence and domestic battery/bodily harm dropped. The charges were filed Sept. 11.

January 16, 2024

  • Bradley D. Oberhaus, 44, Galesburg, had a charge of class 3 felony forgery dismissed. The charge was filed Feb. 8, 2022.

  • In a second case, Oberhaus had a charge of class 4 felony unlawful restraint dismissed. The charge was filed Dec. 29, 2022.

  • In a third case, Oberhaus pleaded guilty to class 2 felony meth possession/5-15 grams and was sentenced to 8 days periodic imprisonment, 3 years probation, and ordered to pay $1,782 in restitution. A charge of class 4 felony retail theft under $300/prior was dismissed. The charges were filed Jan. 9, 2023.

  • Ryan E. Sullivan, 37, Galesburg, had charges of class 3 felony aggravated battery/great bodily harm and misdemeanor battery/bodily harm dropped. The charges were filed May 12.

  • Melissa S. Swanson, 37, Galesburg, had charges of class 2 felony aggravated battery/peace officer and misdemeanor resisting an officer dropped. The charges were filed June 28.

January 17, 2024

  • David L. Kerner, 65, Galesburg, had charges of class 3 felony aggravated battery/public place and meth possession under 5 grams, and misdemeanor criminal damage to property under $500 and resisting an officer dismissed. The charges were filed May 30.

  • In a second case, Kerner pleaded guilty to class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and misdemeanor battery/physical contact and was sentenced to 10 days jail/10 days credit and 2 years probation. A charge of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. The charges were filed July 18.

  • Manase M. Mandondo, 29, Galesburg, had charges of class 2 felony kidnapping and class 4 felony child abduction dismissed. The charges were filed June 13.

  • In a second case, Mandondo pleaded guilty to class 4 felony unlawful restraint and was sentenced to 2 years in prison/215 days credit. Charges of class 2 felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse, class 3 felony kidnapping and indecent solicitation, and class 4 felony child abduction were dismissed. The charges were filed June 13. 

  • Drake L. Taflinger, 28, Avon, had a charge of class 3 felony retail theft over $300 dismissed. The charge was filed Jan. 23, 2023.

January 19, 2024

  • Jeremiah J. Bradfield, 38, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 3 felony aggravated battery/great bodily harm and was sentenced to 180 days jail/118 days credit and 2 years conditional discharge. Charges of class X felony attempted murder and class 3 felony aggravated battery/deadly weapon were dismissed. The charges were filed Sept. 26.

  • Everett L. Howard, 43, Altona, had a charge of class 4 felony stalking dropped. The charge was filed June 7.

  • David L. Johnson, 37, Galva, pleaded guilty to class X felony home invasion and was sentenced to 16 years in prison/730 days credit. Charges of class 2 felony aggravated domestic battery and aggravated domestic battery/strangle, class 3 felony criminal damage to government property over $500, class 4 felony unlawful restraint, and misdemeanor interfering with a report of domestic violence were dismissed. The charges were filed Jan. 18, 2022.

January 24, 2024

  • Christopher L. Claeys, 51, Galesburg, had a charge of class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance dropped. The charge was filed Dec. 27.

  • Lori B. Katzell, 59, Abingdon, had a charge of class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance dropped. The charge was filed Dec. 28.

  • Elias M. Rogers, 44, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic battery/bodily harm (reduced from class 3 felony aggravated battery/deadly weapon) and was sentenced to 30 days jail/6 days credit and 18 months probation. A charge of class 3 felony aggravated battery/great bodily harm was dismissed. The charges were filed Jan. 4, 2023.

January 29, 2024

  • Cody J. Burgus, 32, Galesburg, had a charge of class 4 felony domestic battery/prior dropped. The charge was filed Jan. 8.

  • Andrew M. Wallace, 33, Galesburg, had a charge of class 2 felony violation of the sex offender registry dropped. The charge was filed Dec. 20.

  • In a second case, Wallace had a charge of class 2 felony violation of the sex offender registry dropped. The charge was filed Jan. 5.

January 30, 2024

  • Jessie R. Goodwin, 34, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor violating an order of protection (reduced from class 4 felony) and was sentenced to 54 days jail/27 days credit and 2 years conditional discharge. The charge was filed Jan. 3.

  • Orlando J. Hernandez, 27, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 1 felony aggravated discharge of a firearm and was sentenced to 180 days jail and 18 months probation. A charge of class 3 felony aggravated battery/great bodily harm was dismissed. The charges were filed Apr. 6, 2021.

  • Kraig Payne, 24, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 2 felony aggravated battery/peace officer and was sentenced to 3 years in prison/7 days credit. A second count of the charge was dismissed. The charges were filed Nov. 18, 2022.

  • Lyndell L. Wiggins, 32, Galesburg, had a charge of class 4 felony domestic battery/prior dropped. The charge was filed Nov. 6.

January 31, 2024

  • Jeffrey Harrison, 55, Galesburg, had a charge of class 3 felony false information/violent offender against youth registry dropped. The charge was filed Oct. 24.

  • Joshua G. Johnson, 46, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and was sentenced to drug court probation. The charge was filed Aug. 21.

  • In a second case, Johnson pleaded guilty to class 2 felony burglary and was sentenced to drug court probation. The charge was filed Nov. 17.

  • Keegan E. Johnson, 26, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams and was sentenced to 53 days jail/53 days credit and 2 years probation. The charge was filed Nov. 9. 

  • In a second case, Johnson had a charge of class 2 felony meth possession/15-100 grams dismissed. The charge was filed Nov. 20.

  • In a third case, Johnson had a charge of class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams dismissed. The charge was filed Dec. 11.

  • Karleena L. Kempf, 48, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 4 felony retail theft under $300/prior and was sentenced to drug court probation. The charge was filed June 26.

  • In a second case, Kempf pleaded guilty to class 4 felony retail theft under $300/prior and was sentenced to drug court probation. The charge was filed Oct. 24.

  • In a third case, Kempf had a charge of class 4 felony retail theft under $300/prior dismissed. The charge was filed Nov. 28.

  • Mariyah A. Maddox, 18, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor retail theft under $300 (reduced from class 3 felony retail theft over $300) and was sentenced to 2 years conditional discharge and 40 hours community service. The charge was filed Oct. 25.

  • Michael Martinez III, 40, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 3 felony false information/violent offender against youth registry. The charge was filed Dec. 20, 2022.

  • In a second case, Martinez had a charge of class 3 felony violation of violent offender against youth registry dismissed. The charge was filed Aug. 8.

  • Daniel A. McManis, 28, Oneida, pleaded guilty to class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to 1 day jail/1 day credit, 2 years probation, and 30 hours community service.   • Michael Ray, 65, Galesburg, had a charge of class 4 felony theft under $500/prior dropped. The charge was filed Dec. 19.

  • Cody J. Simpson, 38, Galesburg, had a charge of class 2 felony violating the sex offender registry dropped. The charge was filed Dec. 20.

  • Jala J. Williams, 25, Galesburg, had a charge of class 4 felony mob action dismissed. The charge was filed Oct. 24.

February 1, 2024

  • Bridget M. McLaughlin, 31, Galesburg, pleaded guilty to class 3 felony meth possession under 5 grams (reduced from class 2 felony meth possession/5-15 grams) and was sentenced to 24 months probation and 30 hours community service. Charges of class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed. The court withholds judgment in the case. The charges were filed June 29, 2022.
